MiDAS Training

What is MiDAS Training?

MiDAS is the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme and is administered by the Community Transport Association. The scheme provides a nationally recognised standard for the assessment and training of minibus drivers and has been designed to enhance minibus driving standards and promote the safer operation of minibuses.

Do I Need It?

Whilst MiDAS is not a required qualification for driving a minibus, it is an essential and important part of maintaining and showing your proficiency in driving a minibus. MiDAS Training is primarily focused towards employees and members of charities, voluntary and community groups, schools and more. This allows them to rent minibuses themselves without the need to pay for a driver, enabling them to keep costs down.

Requirements Before Taking MiDAS Training

There are no requirements for taking MiDAS Training, however as mentioned above it is used primarily for charity and not-for-profit workers or users. If you want training for driving minibuses commercially, check out our D1 Training.
